The role of Account Manager for the IP segment in Shenzhen is responsible for our strategic accounts – selling subscription-based products, workflow software and services. This is an opportunity to work in a growing region for IP. The team consists of 6 Sales reporting to Senior Director, Segment Sales in China. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

1. Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5+ years of experience in a sales role, with a demonstrated track record in consultative sales
2. Familiarity and comfort with consultative selling approaches involving senior stakeholders
3. Build and develop a robust pipeline with a clear focus on increasing deal size and velocity
4. Strong account management and planning skills
5. Ability to develop an understanding of business challenges related to IP and R&D
6. Ability to articulate and demonstrate ROI to clients
7. Language Proficiency - Fluent in both English & Mandarin, presentation and negotiation skills
8. Ability to align resources and relationships outside of direct line of responsibility – orchestrate team to close the sale
9. Can prioritize and be flexible in a changing environment
10.Great organization and time management skills, knowledge of using Salesforce
11. Desire to grow in your career and work in a fast-paced environment
12. Partner with Marketing and Pre-sales to develop and execute sales campaigns and lead generation activities
13. Pro-actively acquire and develop relevant market, industry and product knowledge and skills to support commercial success.


It would be great if you also had . . .

1. Business intelligence or SAAS sales experience in the IP industry
2. Experience of attending and exhibiting at industry events and conferences
3. Experience working with end customers and local resellers & distributors
4. Existing knowledge of Clarivate products/services and their competitors is a distinct advantage
What will you be doing in this role?

1. Develop and execute a territory plan, as well as individual strategic account plans, focusing on retention and new business growth strategies
2. Focus on client relationships to ensure retention of existing revenue, whilst widening the account footprint through new business opportunities
3. Keep accurate records, manage pipeline and forecast on Salesforce
4. Maintain a strong matrix of relationships at appropriate levels within the client organisations
5. Present a consistent and professional image of Clarivate to clients, while building high levels of client satisfaction
6. Achieve new business and renewal revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
7. Continually build lP industry knowledge to keep pace with trends
8. Up to 50% travel required


About the Team

In the IP division, accelerate innovation is at the core of what we do. With our contextual intelligence: expertise, data and technology; we support all kinds of customers in their decision making, R&D solutions and IP protection. This role will report to the Senior Director, Segment Sales, who lead a 6-member sales team in mainland China.
Hours of Work

Full-time, permanent – hybrid, 3 days per week in the Shenzhen office
