OB SUMMARY: The person will lead the improvements and studies of all matters relating to chemicals used in our product – electronic transformer. The person’s chemical expertise can be used to support the improvement at our manufacturing processes in Fuling, Chongqing and in Tongzi, Guizhou. Expertise will also be utilize to support our Design Engineering team and in some cases the Supplier Quality team. Specialization on chemicals like adhesive-glue, varnish, ink, flux, resin/hardner and so on of the transformers will be mostly the cases to be handled. He will be responsible to work with other people from different groups and process team for the continuous improvement for the 2 factories of Würth Electronics Midcom. The person in this position is required to collaborate closely and regularly with other departments, mainly Production, Quality, ME, DE and chemical suppliers to ensure smooth and effective process setup and product design, herewith minimizing quality issues and achieve or exceed present effectiveness in the manufacturing side and improve customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Chemical process assessment and correction from process stability control to meet quality requirement
• Continuously and actively pursues and drives improvement opportunities in chemical related process
• Look for new process capabilities where chemicals are in use to improve the efficiency/cost and quality
• Collaborate with different teams to analyze, understand, and identify the correct chemicals to be used in the product from the initial design stage of the product until its mass production.
• Work with chemical vendors tor the optimization of performances of the delivered chemical raw materials
• Align and help start PPAP, Cpk, SPC, etc for processes, with use of statistical tools.
• Support failure analysis and implements solutions
• Lead continuous improvement projects for the reduction of scraps and improvement of first pass yield eventually resulting to better customer satisfaction.
• Provide training and advices to the whole organization whenever necessary.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in chemicals related industry. Good understanding on chemicals such as varnish, glue, soldering materials, and other chemicals used in electronic manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
• Analytical with good technical background on handling different chemical related issues.
• Experience of chemical management for safety/healthy risk control, stock condition, handling, in process control and scrap
• Strong experience of chemical selection to meet the requirement of product, include the reliability test
• Experience of chemical evaluation, chemical experiments, and optimization based on specification and application.
• Experience in process improvement project leading and successful achievement
• Experience of DOE , clear logical and sense to use data and 5 why tool for RC analysis
• Solid knowledge of general quality and manufacturing processes/ techniques, (statistical) quality control programs, engineering and technology principles and practices.
• Strong ability to interpret various product technical documentation;
• Strong ability to identify process weaknesses and defines measures how to correct them;
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, identifying and addressing problems, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to set priorities in a fast paced development environment (High product mix & low volume)
• Strong communication skill and clear logical of presentation, good for time management
• Well spoken and written in bi-lingual (English / Chinese).

EDUCATION:
• University degree in chemical or bachelor degree with relevant chemical studies and courses. For suitable candidates with a bachelor degree, at least 5 years of experience in a chemical industry or working experience in an industry handling chemicals.

COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

• Mastery of MS Windows and basic MS Office applications. Statistical applications would be a big plus.

• Adheres to all requirements for confidentiality of corporate, finance, R&D.
• Adheres to direction from management on distribution controls, secure filing and disposal, records retention and storage for drawings, contracts and other confidential or sensitive materials.
• Regular travel within China is required to visit all factories and suppliers if need
