ABOUT YOUR ROLE
Develop World Class Purchasing processes (in harmony with Director of Global Procurement) and manage C4C suppliers and serve as back-up to Converting Materials Commodity Manager. From those processes, ensure adequate on time delivery and 100% lead time and forecast accuracy for your selected suppliers (approx. 7-10). Work with Corporate Quality to ensure that all requirements are communicated and met by suppliers of your responsibility. Negotiate annual pricing agreements and spot buy pricing and lead times to support production at lowest costs.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
* Ensure that C4C team is supported in parallel with Global Procurement processes.
* Source qualified suppliers and products within China to support China Commercial opportunities.
* Ensure all suppliers are in compliance with all applicable processes and procedures.
* Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
* Provide leadership and guidance to support factory KPI’s and develop annual budget and cost savings initiatives.
* Other task assigned by supervisor.
KEY INTERNAL INTERACTIONS
* Act as global representative of the corporate purchasing function.
* Interact with Sites and GSC on all order related inquiries.
* Provide dynamic balancing of order fulfillment, product development, machine maintenance, process improvement, and capital project tasks.
* Participate on the Department Leadership team to drive cross department improvements and policy decisions.
KEY EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS
* Act as global representative with raw material suppliers, when required.
* Participate in supplier audits as laid out by corporate quality and purchasing.
* Interface with suppliers to optimize delivery times or costs to meet customer demand.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING IN FOR YOU
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or experience and education combination.
* 5-10 years manufacturing experience with preferred experience in Purchasing/Materials Management.
* Preferred 3 years’ experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
* Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to work in a team environment and lead new projects.
* High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities based on business needs.
* Strong demonstrated critical thinking and logic skills, problem solving, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
* Excellent situation analysis and negotiation skills.
* Strong organizational, time management skills.
* Ability to think outside the box, work under pressure and handle problems independently or as part of a team.
* Fluent in English including writing and speaking.
