A. Overall Purpose Of The Job
The position is mainly responsible for
Medical technologists conduct medical laboratory tests, experiments and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Under technical supervision performs a wide range of procedures in all general areas of the medical laboratory including chemistry, serology, and microbiology procedures; and does related works as required.
B. Key Responsibilities
Receives specimens from laboratory or obtains specimens directly from patients and makes quantitative and qualitative analysis.Prepares stains, reagents, media and solutions necessary for the performance of all laboratory tests.Conduct analyses of blood, urine, cerebrospinal and other body fluids to determine their relation to various physiological and pathological conditionsCultivates, isolates, and identifies pathogenic bacteria, parasites and other micro-organisms. Maintain the lab equipment and trouble-shooting. Clean and decontaminate lab devices.Performs and verifies internal quality control procedures and documents discrepancies. Perform test calibration and document the calibration.
· Conduct regular proficiency testing.
Prepare and process referral lab results.Establish procedures for the analysis of specimens and for medical laboratory experiments Collect paternity DNA specimen for contracted Embassy Perform drug abuse urine (DAU) test and breathe alcohol test for contracted company. Dispose of laboratory waste properly in compliance with international and local guideline.May supervise and train other medical laboratory technician or technologists and other medical laboratory workers;
· Assist and consults with medical staff regarding ordering and results of laboratory tests.
· Assist with laboratory inspections for accreditation; prepare records and reports associated with the functioning and accreditation of the lab.
· Continuous Quality Improvement/Quality Analysis.
· Maintain monthly reports for review with the laboratory supervisor or manager.
· Assist in writing and revising policies and procedures as needed; revise lab procedure manual as needed.
· Develop and introduce new test procedures when appropriate.
· Participate in clinic and staff conferences (including case conferences or other medical presentations).
· Other duties or projects as assigned.
C. Job Profile
Required Skills and Knowledge
· Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of clinical laboratory work and the use and care of equipment.
· General knowledge of clinical laboratory quality control procedures and standards; and general knowledge of current literature in the clinical laboratory field.
Required Competencies
· Ability to demonstrate skill in the performance of a variety of laboratory analyses and to evaluate information against measurable criteria.
· Ability to identify incongruities in test procedures and to identify inconsistencies in reports of test results for a patient.
· Ability to demonstrate skill in the performance of a variety of laboratory analyses and to evaluate information against measurable criteria.
· Ability to keep records and prepare various administrative and laboratory analysis reports.
· Ability to communicate effectively and work as a member of the clinic team.
Required Work Experience
· At least one-year working experience in the medical laboratory field.
· Ability to demonstrate required dexterity, knowledge, and ability to complete assigned laboratory tasks and skills, attention to detail and compliance with all appropriate regulatory and safety requirements.
· Work in ISO15189 or CAP accredited lab is preferred.
Required Qualifications
· Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (检验师)by a nationally recognized board/agency (required).
Required Languages
· Basic oral, listening ,speaking ,written skill in English
Travel / Rotation Requirements
· Occasionally travel other RM clinics for on-site lab service supporting.
· Occasionally go outside for on-site lab service due to business need.
