Position Title EC Infrastructure Platform SRE Role
Position Description TheEC InfrastructureSRE team is looking for a DevOps candidate, to implement and maintain a greenfield Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform for Morgan Stanley's China Onshore DataCenters.
TheEC InfrastructureSRE team is responsible for maintaining and improving the Linux, Storage and Virtualisation IaaS platforms, as well as the core system services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, logging, etc.
This position requires a mix of strategic engineering and design along with hands-on, technical work. A successful candidate will have experience in being a Systems Administrator that has moved on to DevOps/Automation in their career. The SRE will work closely with the systems engineers, network engineers, database administrators, developers, quality assurance, and information security team. The successful candidate will participate in a shared oncall rotation to provide 24/7 support for the production plant.
Skills Required Experience of managing, deploying to and debugging large scale production Linux environments.
Understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as: HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP and Load Balancing.
Experience with configuration management tools and configuration as code: e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef or Saltstack.
Knowledge of DevOps tools processes, and culture including git.
Proficiency in shell scripting and at least one high level scripting language (i.e. Python, Perl or Ruby).
Track record of practical problem solving, excellent communication, and documentation skills.
Familiarity with standard monitoring tools such as Nagios, Splunk, Prometheus.
Hands-on experience with storage platforms in the both block (iSCSI) and file (NFS/CMB).
Skills Desired
In-depth knowledge of Linux (RedHat preferred).
Familiarity with Oracle or Postgres Database is a plus.
Practical knowledge and experience with IP networking in large enterprise environments.
Understanding of cryptography is a plus.
Experience with Hyper Converged Infrastructures (like Dell Powerflex) is a plus.
